Christian Suffering!

Christian Suffering!

Dear Visitors, Followers of Jesus Christ

Greetings Once Again!
I greet you in the mighty and gracious name of our Saviour, the Messiah Lord Jesus Christ, and I thank you for taking time to read this week’s short: Weekly Devotion for 21-27 February 2016, by the Wisdom of God Church Online.

Scripture!
Our guiding text is written in 1 Peter, chapter 4:12-19 NIV:

12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trials you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.

13 But rejoice that you participate in the suffering of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of Gods rest for you.

15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.

16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

18 And (It is written), “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner” –Prov 11:31

19 So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.

Devotion Lesson

Dear friend this week we are blessed with this powerful message from the first letter of Apostle Peter which he wrote to God’s elect, strangers in the world those of you who are scattered around the world -1 Peter 1:1-2 explains, that we must be motivated as we will go through different executions and suffering for being Christians.

You see, even though this letter would be said, written before our existence, the Spirit of God is so wary of all times, yesterday, today and forever and Peter had written this words to encourage the many Christians which we know are being pursued and executed in many parts of the world today, that they and us must rejoice in the suffering we face, for the will of God.

Dear friends as Christians we must be exalted and know that the prophesy of the bible must be fulfilled and if there are things that must take place even though painful, we must keep believing in God and keep on doing good, for we know we have hope in salvation and the eternal rest of God, yet our adversaries are without hope, looking to discourage us by imposing fear upon us.

It was the same for the Son of God, that even though he saw in advance, the effects of his suffering and knowing that he was going to be nailed through his hands and feet, he still had courage for our sake, that we would motivate ourselves through his suffering on the cross and endure through every pain, humiliation, suffering and executions we face in our time, because we are the elect of God.

As Jesus did not struck back, let us not struck back. We know our Saviour had the power to call down angels to torment the kings of the world for the suffering he had endured, yet he knew that if he had it according to his will and not the will of the Father, than he wouldn’t have been worthy of his place, on the right hand of our God’s Throne. Amen!

Let us not lose the fight we have already won, by allowing us to be equal to those that oppress us, for we have a reward in Christ and we know the purpose why this things must take place, before the judgment. Our suffering on earth is much less than the suffering that awaits our adversaries, so rejoice in God!

Finally, let us pray for one another, those of you that are at ease today -don’t be relaxed, but consider yourself in the same suffering as that of our compatriots in Christ. Let’s feel for each other for we are joints of the same body of Christ, how will the eyes see that the hand is struck and in blood and not worry?

Remember, what is far away right know, can come to us too soon, because we must all follow in the steps of our Christ, he is the way, the truth and life and no one can see God accept through him.

Amen!

Let us pray:

Awesome God, Lord of everything that exist,

Thank you for a wonderful teaching this week, please make us see your presence during this week, let us pray for our fellow Christians in suffering and know that we are all meant for the sufferings which are according to your will, no matter what we go through.

Guide us this week, through the power of Your Spirit and let us continue to see your greatness as we go through this week.

In the name of Jesus Christ,

Amen!

Have a fantastic Monday and the best week ahead. May God Bless You!
